Transit

Transit includes two types: Domestic Transit and Foreign Transit.

In Domestic Transit, the consignee submits a written request to the customs office where the goods are entered, asking for the goods to be cleared at another customs office within the country. This process requires the payment of a deposit or guarantee and associated costs that the consignee must cover.

In Foreign Transit, the goods are typically sealed at the entry customs office and, within the specified time, transported inside the country to the exit customs office, as indicated in the customs declaration, where the goods are exported. Exiting the goods from the entry customs office requires the payment of a deposit or guarantee and associated costs, which the consignee must bear.
